PRINCIPAL SUPERINTENDING LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

1. Served in the grade of Chief Superintending landscape Architect or in a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service for at least three (3) years;
2. A Bachelor’s Degree in a Landscape Architect or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
3. Been registered with the Board of registration of Architecture and Quantity Surveyors;
4. Corporate membership with the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK);
5. Attended Project Development and Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution;
6. Strategic leadership Development Course lasting not less than six weeks (6) weeks from a recognized institution; and
7. Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence and administrative capability required for effective planning, direction, control and coordination of landscape development function.

Duties and Responsibilities

As a head of section, the officer will be;

1. Planning and coordinating and directing overall operations of various sections
2. Monitoring of workloads and recommending distribution
3. Recommending approval of drawings, general administration of staff matters and preparation of budgets for the division
4. Monitoring of progress and expenditure of landscape works and taking appropriate action on any delays of projects
5. Making recommendations on scheme designs by landscape architectural consultants for approval

 At the Headquarters;

      i.          Coordinating and directing design and supervision of landscape works in the County in liaison with other professionals.

     ii.          In charge of all Architectural, Engineering and Quantity Surveying services

   iii.          Design and supervision of construction and maintenance of public Buildings Civil and other public works

    iv.          Research activities, administration and supervision of all staff working under him/her.
